Baby update

It has been two weeks since my little boy was born and things are going great. Well, they have been going great since about Friday anyway :o). I was hurting pretty bad up until then. I'm feeling much better now.
I guess the nursing thing isn't going as well as I thought it was :o( I took Mason in for his appointment and he was down to 6 lbs 15 oz. He was born 8 lbs 1 oz so they were a little concerned so I started giving him an ounce of formula after each feeding. I went back a couple days later and he weighed 7 lbs 1 oz. So, he is gaining a little bit of weight now but I still have to give him formula :o(. We go in for another appointment tomorrow to check his weight again. Wish us luck.

This is a picture of how Mason likes to eat. He always has his foot up on my chest. It's really cute.

Anthon got a few pictures of Mason smiling so I just wanted to post those too. Sorry they're blurry.

Just a random picture. My sister, Emily, got this blanket for him and it's amazing! It's so soft! Mason really likes it. His eyes close the second I put it on his face.

He's Here!!!

Our new baby boy!

Doesn't he look like Anthon?!
Just kidding! A guy that Anthon works with had fun sending this picture to everyone they work with. I thought it was really funny. Anyway, THIS is our new little boy

Mason Taylor Ellsworth
If you want to know what McKay looked like when HE was born....there you have it. It freaked me out when I first saw him. I thought I went back in time. I gave birth to McKay twice!!

So, I went in to be induced on Monday at 3:00 pm. Before they could give me the pitocin they had to thin me out so they gave me cervidil. Usually, you have to wait 12 hours after they give you the cervidil to start the pitocin but they told me that since it was my third child that it should definitely induce labor early and I wouldn't have to wait the 12 hours. I didn't get my hopes up because I know how my body is. So anyway, 12 hours later....yup, I had to wait the whole 12 hours...... they take the cervidil out and check me to see if I was dilated at all. When she checked me she told me that she couldn't feel his head so they did an ultrasound to make sure he really was head down. Well, turns out, he was breech!! For the last 3 weeks he had been head down. Even when they checked me on Thursday he was head down. He decided to flip over sometime over the weekend. So, since my contractions had already started they decided they needed to do a C-Section :o(.

This is after they gave me the cervidil. The dumb lady gave me my IV 12 hours before she was supposed to. GGRRRRR!!!

Anthon is ready to go into the OR and I'm terrified to get a C-Section!
Well, the C-Section went well. It was one of the weirdest experiences ever! The spinal hurts worse than the epidural. I could feel EVERYTHING going on, it was SO strange!! After the surgery they gave me all this medication to help with the itching and pain and stuff like that but it made me so drowsy that I fell asleep while they were stapling me up. I hated it because I couldn't even focus on my baby. I was so out of it!
This picture was taken right after I got out of the OR. I don't remember taking it or even holding my baby in that room. That's a little scary. I'm glad I didn't drop him or anything!!
Oh, while we were waiting for the cervidil to kick in, we went to visit our friends in the ward that had their baby that morning. Congratulations Alyssa and Blake!

Anyway, here are just some random pictures of the hospital visit and our visitors. We missed taking pictures of a few of our visitors, sorry guys!

Baby Mason :o)

Mason has a lot of skin on his face so it looks like he is always mad and Makenna kept asking us "Why is he so mean?" It was cute :o)

This is a picture of me getting ready to nurse! Yes, I said nurse!!! Can you believe it?! I'm still producing milk! Hopefully it stays with this one and I don't have to buy formula this time around. We will see though.

The kids played in the little play area at the hospital to pass some of the time waiting for mommy and daddy to come home. Poor kids, we were gone from Monday to Friday! Our new family of 5!
On our way home. Mason's first car ride.

My parents watched the kids Monday night and Tuesday night and Dorne and Nancy watched them Wednesday night and Thursday night. Thank you so much Mom and Dad and Dorne and Nancy for watching our children for us. We really appreciate it!

They had fun at Nanny and Papa's house rolling each other up like hot dogs :o)
When I got home I got these beautiful flowers from my wonderful husband! Thank you Anthon!!

Change of plans

I went in for my second to last doctor's appointment today and (being 36 weeks and 4 days along) I am measuring between 40 and 41 weeks so my doctor moved up the date again. Instead of being induced on the 16th I am going into the hospital on MONDAY!! It's nice that I will be having him so early but now I have TONS to do this weekend to prepare. I don't expect to actually have the baby until Tuesday. I'm not dilated at all so they have to do some things to me to thin me out before they start inducing so.... I will go in at 3:00 pm on Monday and will probably have the baby Tuesday.
Anyway, I just thought I would give an update! I'm really excited!!!

Our weekend in Thatcher

My sister, Emily, blessed her baby this weekend in Thatcher. We headed down on Friday after Anthon got off work.
We were able to sleep in Saturday, which was very nice. After we got up and ate breakfast, Anthon went to play ultimate frisbee with my family and then to help my brother Brian put some shingles up on the roof of the house that he's building.

All the kids had fun playing in the dirt and walking through the framing of the house.

Makenna & Aubrey

All the kids on the Cat going to Uncle Brian's house. They were singing Jingle Bells the entire ride over there. I could hear them from my car!

Brooklee was blessed on Sunday and then they had a big dinner at Valley Furniture afterwards. My Brother-in-law's Brother-in-law owns a furniture store and Sam manages it I think. Anyway, they had the dinner in the rec room upstairs.

This is my grandma Gallegos burping Brooklee. McKay tried to help.

This is cute little Brooklee.

My grandma again :o). This is my mom's mom.
My cute parents feeding Brooklee.
McKay had fun spinning Makenna around on this chair.
All of Sam's family and ours. There are 9 kids in Sam's family!! So there was a HUGE turn out.
All in all it was a good weekend. I had to spend 3 hours in the Safford hospital and it turns out I might have a kidney stone :o(. They had to do two mini catheters and found blood in my urine. So, they drew blood and ran some tests. There wasn't an infection in my blood, there wasn't anything wrong with my liver or kidneys but I COULD still have a kidney stone. I just need to have my own doctor take a better look. Whatever it is, it's killing me and I can barely move sometimes!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! It's hard going back to the regular routine after Christmas, huh?

Happy New Year!

We had a pretty good New Year's Eve. We usually have a big party at our house but I really didn't feel like planning anything this year. So, last minute we invited just a few people over for games. We played the Wii for a while and then played Bunco and Kent. They went by REALLY fast! Here are a few pictures of our fun night.

Playing tennis

Everyone playing Kent.

Our bubbly for the countdown ;o) I LOVE sparkling cider

Dorne came to join the party but without Nancy :o(

Bethany, Kevin & Kennedy were there

Tanner & Lin were also there.
It was a nice relaxing night. Thanks to those of you who came. We had a fun night!

The next day, Anthon's family got together to play a little bit of baseball but we didn't have enough people to play so we ended up just playing T-ball with the kids. It was cute.

Makenna at bat

They had monkey bars there. This is Makenna's first try.
McKay and I were sick that day so we all went home and took a nap. After we woke up, we went to Abram's house to play games.

McKay playing Don't Spill the Beans...? I don't know if that's what it's called but it's close.
We also played Bunco and Would You Rather. It was a fun day and the kids always love having cousins to play with.

Makenna and Amalee playing dress up
I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve!
