Ouch!

When I left my house to go to Dewper this morning I decided I wanted to take my big, heavy stroller with me so I could put all of my stuff in it. I had a small stroller in back but I was in a hurry to leave so I just put the big stroller on top of it. Well, when I went to take the stroller out, it slid off the small one and fell right on top of my foot! My Suburban is kinda tall so it fell pretty hard and hurt REALLY bad!! I almost cried but then got a grip. I limped into the mall and it was very uncomfortable trying to sit indian style and not put pressure on it. Anyway, I know it's kinda gross to put a big ol' picture of a foot on the blog so I just got part of the foot. Here it is. I know I'm really weird but I hate getting hurt and not having much to show for it. With as bad as it hurt and as hard as it hit when the stroller fell on me I should have had a bigger battle wound. It IS swollen and bruised and tore off some of the skin but it doesn't look all that bad. I was hoping for a ginormous bruise or something :o( Oh well.

Bowling

This past Friday was my kids' first time bowling. We have taken Makenna with us before but have never actually had her bowl....I don't think. Anyway, it was really fun. Anthon got a coupon at work. It was for 6 people to bowl for 2 hours and we got free shoe rentals and a free pitcher of soda. We went to the Brunswick bowling alley on Warner and and Gilbert. Holy Cow! Talk about a nice bowling alley! Instead of the two seater score keeping thing it was actually a table for 4 and it had a little box sticking out of the table where you enter all the names in. Also, if some of the people bowling need bumpers you can just check the bumper box next to their name and the bumpers automatically come up when it is that bowler's turn. They also have servers there that bring you your shoes and anything else you want to order. It was the first bowling alley I ever went to that I felt like I had to tip someone.

We invited Anthon's parents to go with us. It was really fun! We went to Sam's Club and got their 3 meat pizza before we went to the bowling. If you haven't tried their 3 meat pizza you HAVE to! It is SO good!

Makenna tried bowling without this metal thing but she threw the ball so softly that it got stuck in the middle of the lane.

Makenna was having so much fun that she kept pushing McKay's ball too. He didn't really mind.

I thought this picture was funny. McKay could barely hold the ball but he wanted to be the one to take it up there.

McKay didn't have an afternoon nap that day so he got really grumpy and wasn't interested in bowling anymore after only like 20 minutes. The only time he stopped whining was when we bought him some Starbursts. He ate more than half of the package and it was gone in like 10 minutes!! Not even joking.

This is what Makenna thought of the night :o)

On Saturday we decided it was time to clean and do things around the house. It seems like there is always something else to do on Saturdays so since we didn't have anything else going on, we cleaned.

Anthon did an amazing job on the garage. I know you can't see it from this picture but I was trying to get a shot of the shelves I bought at that garage sale a few Saturdays ago. Well worth the $15. He got lots of the garage cleared out. I was so pleased with him!!

While Anthon was working in the garage, I was in the house folding laundry. I got bored of that and decided to spray paint our book shelf. Ok, for those of you who know me, I don't like buying used things and if I ever want something changed in my house I want it new. Well, I change my mind a TON and we don't have enough money to pay for my ever-changing mind! So, I got cheap. I have been spray painting all of my brown decorations to black.

Just don't look too close!! :o)

Sunday was great! Anthon couldn't make me breakfast because we have church at 8:00 am. He said that he wanted to get me flowers for mother's day but he already gave them to me for our anniversary and Valentine's day and he didn't want me to get sick of them (I think it was also because on Friday I told him he didn't need to get me flowers). Anyway, I had to say prayer in sacrament :o(. Thank a lot Daniel!! :o) All the mothers got a rose and they all got to go to Sunday school and relief society. The men took over all of our callings. When we got home, Anthon made lunch and put the kids down for a nap. He wouldn't let me clean or do anything. It was nice. I took a good nap and then made cookies for my sisters-in-law and mother-in-law and my wonderful Aunt April. We went and visited family and when we got back and made dinner and then put the kids to bed.

I had to take a picture of this because it was the first time EVER that McKay has fallen alseep on the floor. He usually only falls alseep in a bed. He even hardly ever falls asleep in the car! Makenna used to just lay down and go to sleep all the time so it was a shocker when McKay came along.

On Monday Anthon took me out to dinner at Logan's Roadhouse for Mother's day. It was REALLY good! He also gave me money so I could go out and buy some new shirts so I went to Ross and bought some clothes!!! WAHOO!!!

I'm am very glad that I am a mother. I love my two beautiful children even though it can be challenging sometimes. I am glad that I have a loving husband.

Happy Mother's Day

I know this is a little late but I just wanted to post something about my mom and mother-in-law.

Patty, mother of 6
My mother is the most wonderful mother I could ever ask for. She is so loving and thoughtful. She puts her childrens' needs before her own even now (all of her childern are out of the house). I can't even count how many times my parents have met us in Globe so that they could pick up our kids so we could have some alone time or so I could spend a week with her. She is amazing. She did a wonderful job raising us and teaching us about the gospel. I love you very much mom!! You couldn't have done a better job.
PS-I hope you know that when we tease you it is because you are so fun to joke around with. You take it very well! :o)

Nancy, mother of 3
My mother-in-law is also a wonderful person. She is always doing nice things for my children and for us. We are so blessed to still have her with us so she can watch her grandchildren grow. She is always reading books to them and sewing clothes for them. She makes us laugh! Thank you for being such a great mother-in-law! We love you Nancy.

Growing up

First, I would like to apologize to all of you if some of my post have been a bit boring :o). This is pretty much the only "Journal" that I keep so I am just warning you that there might be some not so interesting posts :o). Blogging is the only way I will come even close to keeping a journal. It's bad, I know. So, sorry if this post is boring to you. I just need to make a record of this :o).

Second, McKay is growing up way too fast! I'm so sad that he is turning into a little boy. I miss having my little baby. Well, McKay was actually never really a baby. He was 9 1/2 lbs when he was born (which was a shocker because Makenna was only 7lb 11oz) but I never expected him to grow up so fast :o(. He is talking SO much!! He seriously learns a new word everyday. Here is a list of everything that he says that I can think of at the moment.
Words
Down, Up, Outside, Daddy, Momma, Ball, Ba (bath), Bubbles, Hand, Nenna (Makenna), Nanana (banana), gogur (yogurt), Ok, Let's go, Alright, Ducky, Show (for tv), Cup, Si cup (sippy cup), Juice, Shoes, Grandpa, Hi, Bye, Eat, Mamón (spanish for pacifier), Sit down, Car, Ow, Please, Thank you & my least favorites Mine, No & Don't.

Phrases

I wan down (I want down)
I wan some (I want some)
And pretty much anything else that goes with I want :o)
Daddy, I wa see Pampa (I want to see Grandpa)
Yu you (love you)
Wus da (What's that)

He also like to make himself dizzy by spinning in circles and then he stops and says "whoa, whoa, whoa" and then laughs really hard.
I'm so proud of my little boy but so sad how fast he is growing up :o(

A couple of things & Question of the week

Hair cut
Last night I went back to Supercuts to get my hair fixed. Marla did a great job! She was there on Friday when I got my hair cut and she told me that she heard me telling the lady like 4 times that I wanted it shorter. I was really frustrated. I told her I wanted it stacked in the back and I wanted the top layer pretty high. After telling her 4 times, I got home, straightened my hair and I only had two layers in the back and the top layer was just above my neck. I was feeling sick because I accidentally gave her a $7 dollar tip!!! I was mad. Also, the left side of my hair was longer than the right. Marla was very kind and fixed it for me. She did a great job!

Doctor appointments
My children had their doctor appointments yesterday. Makenna (3 yrs & 3 mo.) weighed 29 lbs she is 36.5 inches tall. She is in the %25 percentile in both. McKay (19 mo. & the real reason I'm posting this) weighed in at 24.8 lbs and is 32.25 inches tall. He is only in the %25 percentile in both weight and height. I am really surprised because he looks like a big boy. Not too big but he looks like he is bigger than that. I guess it's just his cheeks :o)

Question of the week

What was the biggest news event when you were growing up?
Anthon- Anthon can't think of one that happened in Az, so, if someone can help him please do :o)

Jennifer- The 1989 San Francisco earthquake. I don't know if that was the absolute biggest news event of my time but it's the one I remember. A portion of the upper deck of the Bay Bridge collapsed onto the lower deck. It was a really bad earthquake. Here's the crazy thing. Someone gave my dad a ticket to the Battle of the Bay World Series game that was going on that day. He got off work early so that he could go and then realized that he had been given the wrong ticket. The ticket that he had was for the next game. He was really bummed because he was looking forward to going that day....until he heard the news. A couple of the baseball players had been injured and were taken to the hospital. Crazy, huh? I know it wasn't a coincidence. Here are some pictures. I have been in earthquakes before and a couple of pretty big ones but none THIS bad. The after shocks are actually kind of fun :o). The picture on the right is the Bay Bridge.

Fathers & Sons/Girls Weekend Out

Fathers & Sons
This past weekend was our ward's fathers and sons camp out. Anthon was so excited to take McKay. He would have taken him last year but the ward cancelled it so this was his first year going with his own son! I got things ready for them on Friday and then Anthon came home early from work. They left the house around 5:00 to head to Globe. The camp site was about seven miles out of Globe on some mountain.

Saying goodbye.

At the camp site. McKay loves his basketball, so we let him take it with him. They made a bed in the back of the suburban. Anthon said that he had a miserable time trying to sleep. It was REALLY cold and I forgot to pack socks for McKay :o(. Anthon put some of HIS socks on McKay but they kept falling off. McKay kept waking up (probably because he was cold) and then would take a while to go back to sleep. Anthon tried to keep him covered but McKay HATES having blankets on him. This is McKay's really dirty face! I don't know if you can see it or not but McKay tripped on a rock the night before and bumped his head pretty good. Poor little guy.
McKay fell asleep on the ride home. He was really tired after his awful night of sleep.

The boys got home around 11:30. I think it's kind of sad how short those campouts are but I was glad to have them home.

Girls Weekend Out

Right after Anthon left, my friend, Carrie, called and told me she would be picking me up to go to dinner. We had a whole night planned out. We were going to go to Nando's on Val Vista and Baseline but it was really crowded so we ended up going to Costa Vida which is right across the street. We met our friend, Nicole, over there and we all had dinner together. Makenna ate her kids quesadilla and almost half of mine. She also had half of my beans and rice. She did really good :o).

After dinner, we went to Supercuts so I could get my hair trimmed and so Carrie could get her hair layered. We tried to talk Nicole into getting her hair cut but she wouldn't cave :o). I was going to put before and after pictures on this post but I am not totally satisfied with the cut. I am going to go back in tomorrow and ask her to redo it. I will post them then.

premonition
After we got our hair done, we went back to Carrie's house and watched the movie Premonition. I liked it but it is not a good movie to watch when your husband is on a road trip. Not because it's scary but because of what happens. Anyway, we ended up staying up talking until 12:45 am. Makenna & Kierstie (Carrie's daughter) fell alseep in the playroom while they were watching a Barbie movie. When I got home it was kind of scary how quiet the house was so I watched an episode of Friends and then went to sleep.

The next morning Makenna and I both woke up around 8:00. We got ready for the day and then we went and picked up Carrie and Kierstie. Remember how I won those tickets to that Peter Pan thing when I went to Dewper? That is what we went to. I had four tickets and since Anthon and McKay were gone I invited Carrie to go with me.
The girls had so much fun. It was at the Wright House on University and Country Club. Anyway, when we first walked in we saw Nana, the dog.

The girls got to do a bean bag toss...They got to meet Wendy, John & Michael...
Tinkerbell...
& Peter Pan. She's kinda freaky lookin', huh?

Makenna LOVES water fountains and they had a couple of them over there so she had to stop and look.
They had a lunch buffet their for everyone so we ate and then watched Princess Tigerlily do a little dance. Afterwards, the girls got their faces painted.

Checking out her face painting in the mirror.

Everytime I told her I wanted to get a picture of her face painting, she would turn her head and point to it. So, this was one of the pictures without her finger totally covering up the painting :o).

She also got a Tinkerbell tatoo.

By the time we got home Anthon and McKay had been home for about an hour. I gave my boys hugs and kisses and then we put McKay down for a much needed nap. We put Makenna in her swimming suit and we went outside to wash the Suburban. It was REALLY dirty!
When we were done Anthon went to go play golf with Carrie's husband, Burt. While he was gone Makenna took a nap and I watched
License to Wed
I liked it :o). Thanks for letting me borrow it Carrie!

The little girl next door to us, Macee, had a birthday party so we went to that. The kids had fun playing at the park (that is where the party was). I had to leave early because I had to do a Simplyfun party for my cousin's friend from work. It was fun but I didn't get home until like 9:00 pm. I was glad to get home and just relax with Anthon.

Hhhh...

Well, I took everyone's advice and threw the shirt away. It's what I probably would have done anyway. I'm just really sad because it was a cute shirt.
Anyway, I washed it again this morning and I got the same results :o(. So.......that's it.
SAD FACE

What The Heck?!

Ok, so I bought a shirt from Ross about a month and a half ago. I washed it, of course, and then I wore it for the first time, but by the end of the day it had a really funny smell to it. I figured it was because I was outside all day......and weird smells...stuck to it......? I don't know! Anyway, so I washed it again and when it came out of the dryer it still smelled funny. It smelled kind of like burnt rubber or burnt hair mixed with chemicals or something. Anyway, long story short, I have washed it like, seriously, 30 times since I bought it. The smell never went away. So this morning I thought I would hand wash it and see if that would help at all. OH MY GOSH!! The water was a really dark greenish brown color. I couldn't even see the bottom of the sink. It was SOO gross!! I washed it over and over and over. Each time, the water was exactly the same. I washed it with hot, warm and cold water and it didn't make a difference. So, after about half an hour of washing it started to run a little more clear so I washed it with fabric softener. Anyway, this is what the water looked like after 40 minutes of washing the shirt.
Isn't that disgusting?! And this is 90% better than what it looked like when I first started! I finally got the water running pretty clear after I rinsed it so I put it in the dryer hoping that the smell was coming from all that green stuff. Well, after I took it out, it smelled like a perm mixed with Gain Joyful Expressions.I hate to think that I actually wore the shirt with all that filth in it. I don't get it though. I washed it TONS!!
Can anyone explain this? And how do I get the smell out?!
