Memorial Day

For Memorial day we had all of Anthon's family over for a BBQ. We set out a swimming pool and a slip n' slide for the kids. It was really fun!

All the Ellsworth grandkids. Kennedy, McKay, Amalee, Maggie & Makenna
Basha's had a sale on their steaks so we splurged and bought two. The sale was REALLY good. I know this is bad, but I have never cooked a steak before! I made up a recipe for a marinade and it actually ended up tasting pretty darn good! I was proud of myself :o) haha
I put this thing together right before the BBQ. Don't laugh! I totally want a bigger one but we don't BBQ enough to spend the money. This was actually the first BBQ we have had since we have been married!!
McKay loved running up and down the slip n' slide

Anthon enjoyed throwing the kids down the slip n' slide haha

Also, my most wonderful friend Cara let me buy her digital camera for really cheap. It was so embarrassing always carrying this thing around with me
I hated pulling this thing out every time I wanted to take a picture. Also, it broke about a month ago so every time I turn it on, it beeps really loud five times before I can do anything. So, Cara was nice enough to offer us her old digital camera.

This is the camera we bought from her. Thanks Cara!!!

I gave in

Hsm
High School Musical 2
Ok, Ok I gave in. I can no longer say that I am one of the few people who has never seen High School Musical. Carrie let me borrow the first and second and my feelings on the movies.....I liked them. It was REALLY cheesy but fun.
twilight
Also, I think I am going to give in and start reading the Twilight series. I have only heard good things. I am a little kid when it comes to reading books so I know I will like these. I'm way into Fictional books. I have read all of the Harry Potter books at least twice and I have enjoyed reading The Chronicles of Narnia. Anyway, if anyone has the Twilight books and really wants me to borrow them :o) I would not object :o) haha! Is anyone willing to let me borrow them?

Oh happy day!

When Anthon came home from work last night he surprised us with these
Krispy Kreme donuts!!! I knew that they had opened back up last Tuesday but I heard that the lines were extremely long and I thought I would wait until it died down a little. I have missed these tasty treats for over a year now and I'm glad they are back. I'm also glad that the building that opened up is pretty close to our house too. These things melt in your mouth, it's crazy! Anyway, I know I shouldn't have but I had two last night! It didn't help my diet at all, that's for sure!
This was the expression on my kids' faces the entire time they were eating them.
McKay was really funny. Every time he took a bite he would run in circles saying "Mmmm" until he was done and then he would go and get his next bite. It was really cute!

On a totally unrelated subject....Anthon was playing in a stake basketball game Tuesday night and one of the players on his team went for the ball (or something like that) just as Anthon did and totally punched him in the face. Not on purpose though. He felt really bad and apologized and stuff but this is what it looked like.I should have taken the picture on Wednesday because by the time I took this picture it didn't look as bad. He has that bruise on his forehead and a black eye. On Tuesday you could totally see two perfectly round little knots on his forehead. They were sticking out pretty far.

Anyway, I won't say who did it but he got hurt too. Anthon said it looked like his hand was really red and cut.

It seems like everytime Anthon goes to play basketball, he gets hurt. And yet he still wants to go every week. I don't understand men!

The joys of being a parent

This is going to be my very first post without pictures! Crazy, I know.

Just after midnight on Sunday (well, Monday) I climbed into bed so stinkin' tired. At 2:30 am I felt Anthon get out of bed and I realized Makenna was crying. When Anthon walked into her room Makenna was crying saying "Wook at me! Wook at me!" She had thrown up all over herself, her bed and her floor. Poor little girl. So, Anthon woke me up saying that he needed help. I got out of bed and while I was giving Makenna a bath, Anthon put her bedding in the washing machine. He took out the carpet cleaner and cleaned up the mess on the floor. It was weird because Makenna was being really happy in the tub. She was smiling and telling me about how she "choked". The last time she threw up was when she couldn't really talk so she didn't exactly know what to call it. Anyway, after her bath, I put her in clean pj's and put her in the spare bedroom. We were just getting ready to get back into bed and she threw up again! It went right through the comforter, Flat sheet and fitted sheet..hhhh. So, we bunched it up, put her in different pj's again and put a sleeping pad on our floor and explained to her that when she "choked" again she needed to do it in the toilet and we gave her a little demonstration. So, she laid down, I took a quick shower and got into bed just after 4:00 am and about 10 minutes later Makenna jumped out of bed and ran to the toilet and started throwing up again. It was so sad watching her. I finally got back to sleep and when I woke up the next morning Anthon told me that she threw up again (in the toilet). I felt so bad for her but proud that she did it in the toilet. So, Anthon left for work and I heard McKay wake up and I went in to get him and guess what...Yup, HE threw up!!
For the rest of the day the kids were doing just fine. They weren't acting sick or anything so I figured they were ok. I guessed it was probably something they ate for dinner because Anthon and I were ok but we ate something totally different than they did. So, we had plans to go to Bishop Smith's house for a BBQ and to go swimming. The Carnavales won a BBQ and swim party at a church auction and invited us. It was very nice of them. Anyway, we decided it would be ok to go since we thought it was just some old food needing to leave their system. We went and had a wonderful time!! Makenna loved playing in the pool and McKay enjoyed drinking everyone's sodas, sorry guys! Thank you so much for inviting us and for the yummy food.
Anyway, this morning after I got my two babysitting kids, Makenna laid down on the couch and was acting really tired. I needed to go grocery shopping (badly!) so I put all four kids in car and headed to Wal-Mart. Makenna fell asleep on the way! Wal-Mart is only two minutes away! So I woke her up but I didn't know how I was going to do my shopping. I have a 20 month old and then Isabella who is 2 and Makenna who was asleep and Isaiah who is 4. So, I searched for one of those carts with the additional seats and couldn't find one anywhere. Luckily, I saw an old friend who was just leaving and let me use hers. So, I put McKay and Isabella in the two seats and I put Makenna in the seat that is actually in the cart. Now, it doesn't have holes for legs so I sat her sideways and grabbed a pillow from off the shelf and put it behind her back. It was big enough so she could rest her head on it too. She ended up falling asleep and stayed asleep almost the entire time. Anyway, when we got home she laid back down on the couch and while I was giving the kids lunch, she threw up again. So, apparently it wasn't just something she ate on Sunday. So, I am apologizing to the Carnavales and the Smiths. I hope I didn't get your kids sick. If so, you can bring them to my house and I can deal with them. I'm really sorry!! I honestly didn't think it was anything contagious.

Busy weekend

This has been a crazy weekend! My wonderful sister, Amy, helped me do a yard sale Saturday morning. So Friday night I made all the signs and went and hung them up. While I was going through everything and pricing stuff I watched
Benchwarmers Poster
Oh my goodness! I laughed SO hard! I don't know if it was just one of those nights but I thought it was a really funny movie.
Anyway, so I woke up early Saturday morning and started making breakfast burritos so that we could sell those too. It's actually a good idea if you are ever planning on doing a yard sale. Anyway, we ended up making $24.25!!!! WAHOO!!! Hahaha It was still fun though. We saw a couple of ugly spiders while we were out there! Thanks for killing them Amy!! I'm a total wuss when it comes to killing bugs, no matter how small.
Also, Anthon left early Saturday morning to go up to Strawberry with his dad. His grandma owns a cabin up there and some of the family was going up to repaint the cabin and clean up a little bit. Anthon said he saw spiders too...BIG ones! I didn't want to hear about them though because I will be up there in a couple of weeks and then again at the end of June.
After the yard sale, I got to relax for about an hour and then we went to a birthday party! Carrie did a great job! I have never been to a birthday party like that before. It was a princess party and all the little girls came in their princess dresses. They decorated crowns with jewels and stuff and they got wands and little princess jump ropes and a necklace. They also put glitter in their hair and painted their nails. Because there were boys coming too she gave them all shields and swords and they had a dragon that they had to slay with "magic potion" (which was water balloons).

Makenna in her princess get up. All the kids were bright red from playing around in 95 degree heat. I think I was the only grown up there who was just as red as the kids!
The kids went down for a nap after the party and so did I.... not on purpose. I was reading on the couch and fell asleep. Anthon got home around 4:30 and I tried to tell him about my day but he fell alseep on the floor. I'm sure they worked pretty hard up there.
At 5:15 my good high school friend, Kriston, came to pick me up so we could go out to dinner with some of our other high school friends. Tiffany is down from Utah right now and I hadn't seen her since my wedding day! We met at Chili's and had so much fun catching up on things and remembering our crazy high school days.

This is Kriston (left) and Tiffany (right). Sorry about the pictures. I was using my video camera AND it was really dark inside the restaurant.

This is Cara and Me

And these are two cute little kids that came with. MaKenna (left, Tiff's daughter. Dont you love her name! ;o)) and Ryken (right, Cara's son).

After we ate dinner we went and got some frozen yogurt and talked some more. I'm so glad we were able to get together! I love that we still keep in touch and hang out every once in a while. It makes me feel young again! haha

Ouch!

When I left my house to go to Dewper this morning I decided I wanted to take my big, heavy stroller with me so I could put all of my stuff in it. I had a small stroller in back but I was in a hurry to leave so I just put the big stroller on top of it. Well, when I went to take the stroller out, it slid off the small one and fell right on top of my foot! My Suburban is kinda tall so it fell pretty hard and hurt REALLY bad!! I almost cried but then got a grip. I limped into the mall and it was very uncomfortable trying to sit indian style and not put pressure on it. Anyway, I know it's kinda gross to put a big ol' picture of a foot on the blog so I just got part of the foot. Here it is. I know I'm really weird but I hate getting hurt and not having much to show for it. With as bad as it hurt and as hard as it hit when the stroller fell on me I should have had a bigger battle wound. It IS swollen and bruised and tore off some of the skin but it doesn't look all that bad. I was hoping for a ginormous bruise or something :o( Oh well.

Bowling

This past Friday was my kids' first time bowling. We have taken Makenna with us before but have never actually had her bowl....I don't think. Anyway, it was really fun. Anthon got a coupon at work. It was for 6 people to bowl for 2 hours and we got free shoe rentals and a free pitcher of soda. We went to the Brunswick bowling alley on Warner and and Gilbert. Holy Cow! Talk about a nice bowling alley! Instead of the two seater score keeping thing it was actually a table for 4 and it had a little box sticking out of the table where you enter all the names in. Also, if some of the people bowling need bumpers you can just check the bumper box next to their name and the bumpers automatically come up when it is that bowler's turn. They also have servers there that bring you your shoes and anything else you want to order. It was the first bowling alley I ever went to that I felt like I had to tip someone.

We invited Anthon's parents to go with us. It was really fun! We went to Sam's Club and got their 3 meat pizza before we went to the bowling. If you haven't tried their 3 meat pizza you HAVE to! It is SO good!

Makenna tried bowling without this metal thing but she threw the ball so softly that it got stuck in the middle of the lane.

Makenna was having so much fun that she kept pushing McKay's ball too. He didn't really mind.

I thought this picture was funny. McKay could barely hold the ball but he wanted to be the one to take it up there.

McKay didn't have an afternoon nap that day so he got really grumpy and wasn't interested in bowling anymore after only like 20 minutes. The only time he stopped whining was when we bought him some Starbursts. He ate more than half of the package and it was gone in like 10 minutes!! Not even joking.

This is what Makenna thought of the night :o)

On Saturday we decided it was time to clean and do things around the house. It seems like there is always something else to do on Saturdays so since we didn't have anything else going on, we cleaned.

Anthon did an amazing job on the garage. I know you can't see it from this picture but I was trying to get a shot of the shelves I bought at that garage sale a few Saturdays ago. Well worth the $15. He got lots of the garage cleared out. I was so pleased with him!!

While Anthon was working in the garage, I was in the house folding laundry. I got bored of that and decided to spray paint our book shelf. Ok, for those of you who know me, I don't like buying used things and if I ever want something changed in my house I want it new. Well, I change my mind a TON and we don't have enough money to pay for my ever-changing mind! So, I got cheap. I have been spray painting all of my brown decorations to black.

Just don't look too close!! :o)

Sunday was great! Anthon couldn't make me breakfast because we have church at 8:00 am. He said that he wanted to get me flowers for mother's day but he already gave them to me for our anniversary and Valentine's day and he didn't want me to get sick of them (I think it was also because on Friday I told him he didn't need to get me flowers). Anyway, I had to say prayer in sacrament :o(. Thank a lot Daniel!! :o) All the mothers got a rose and they all got to go to Sunday school and relief society. The men took over all of our callings. When we got home, Anthon made lunch and put the kids down for a nap. He wouldn't let me clean or do anything. It was nice. I took a good nap and then made cookies for my sisters-in-law and mother-in-law and my wonderful Aunt April. We went and visited family and when we got back and made dinner and then put the kids to bed.

I had to take a picture of this because it was the first time EVER that McKay has fallen alseep on the floor. He usually only falls alseep in a bed. He even hardly ever falls asleep in the car! Makenna used to just lay down and go to sleep all the time so it was a shocker when McKay came along.

On Monday Anthon took me out to dinner at Logan's Roadhouse for Mother's day. It was REALLY good! He also gave me money so I could go out and buy some new shirts so I went to Ross and bought some clothes!!! WAHOO!!!

I'm am very glad that I am a mother. I love my two beautiful children even though it can be challenging sometimes. I am glad that I have a loving husband.

Happy Mother's Day

I know this is a little late but I just wanted to post something about my mom and mother-in-law.

Patty, mother of 6
My mother is the most wonderful mother I could ever ask for. She is so loving and thoughtful. She puts her childrens' needs before her own even now (all of her childern are out of the house). I can't even count how many times my parents have met us in Globe so that they could pick up our kids so we could have some alone time or so I could spend a week with her. She is amazing. She did a wonderful job raising us and teaching us about the gospel. I love you very much mom!! You couldn't have done a better job.
PS-I hope you know that when we tease you it is because you are so fun to joke around with. You take it very well! :o)

Nancy, mother of 3
My mother-in-law is also a wonderful person. She is always doing nice things for my children and for us. We are so blessed to still have her with us so she can watch her grandchildren grow. She is always reading books to them and sewing clothes for them. She makes us laugh! Thank you for being such a great mother-in-law! We love you Nancy.
