4th of July weekend

Anthon's making it a tradition to take a week off work between our birthdays. This was his second or third year, I can't remember. Anyway, Anthon's birthday was on the 29th of June and mine was on the 5th of July. I forgot to take pictures but we had a joint birthday party with some friends on the 27th. We went and watched Transformers 2 and then got together and played games and had cake. It was very fun! Thanks Danielle and Nathan for letting us use your house! (Ours is too small to have that many people over :o( )
Anyway, So Anthon had the 27th through the 6th off of work (today is his first day back). It was so nice.We went to Culver's on Anthon's birthday with some friends for FHE. I LOVE that place! It was fun and I bumped into my cousin, Cynthia, there. Tuesday, we went to the Summer Movie Fun. Wednesday we pretty much did nothing and just relaxed. Thursday we packed for our camping trip and Friday....well, that's when the fun began!
We left our house at 8:00 am to head up to Show Low to go camping at Fool's Hollow. We got there at around 10:15 (thanks to McKay who had to stop 3 times to go pee pee) and Fool's Hollow was full. I won't go into the whole story but we ended up going to EVERY camp site in Show Low, Blue Ridge, Pinetop/Lakeside and we even went up to Big Lake (up by Sunrise) and they were ALL full. We didn't know what else to do so Amy suggested we go to Vernon. Vernon is about 15-20 minutes outside of Show Low. Once we got there, we had to wait for 2 HOURS for the rest of the family to come up because we didn't know how to get to the camp site Amy was talking about. They finally got there and we made our way up to a camp site that I guess is used for the scouts or something. It was another 10 minutes on a very bumpy dirt road before we got to our camp site. And guess what time it was when we finally got there....6:30 PM!! We were in the car for more than 10 hours! looking for a place to camp! The kids did pretty good though. Mason didn't make a peep almost the entire time!!! He only started crying the last 10 minutes in the car and that was because he was hungry. He was so stinkin' good!!
Anyway, we were all pretty frustrated once we got there but after everything was set up and dinner was made, we relaxed and had an enjoyable evening.
We woke up pretty darn early on Saturday morning and spent almost the entire day playing around. We found a rope swing hanging from one of the trees and it kept the kids entertained for a while.

McKay kept saying (in a deep and goofy voice) "This. is. SOOO fun!" He loved the swing.
Makenna really enjoyed it too. She kept wanting to go back.

Anthon brought horse shoes, my dad brought cribbage and I brought a book so everyone was all set. It was very relaxing.
We had dinner at about 4:30 and then got ready to go into Show Low for the Fireworks at the High School. Of course, we HAD to take pictures of all the kids before we left!
Left to Right
Austin(sarah's), Brooklee(emily's), Hailey(sarah's), McKay, Makenna, Mason & Aubrey(sarah's)
All of my parents grandkids. Well, with one on the way.

I made matching bows for all the girls

We got to the high school a couple hours before the fireworks started so we walked around and looked at the booths they had set up and we had the kids play around on the bouncy castle thingys.
This was Mason's first fireworks show! He watched them for a little while and then went to sleep.
Waiting for the fireworks to start. We all look SO tired!
Playing with the light up toys my parents bought for them.

Watching the fireworks. SO cute!

I didn't take any pictures on Sunday :o(. It was a good day. We hung out and played games and ate. I ended up going in to Show Low to visit my BF from high school, Jennifer. She actually lives in Lindon which is about 10-15 minutes out of Show Low in the opposite direction. She gave me a haircut for my birthday. Thank you Jennifer!!!
Monday morning we packed up and left. It was a very fun weekend. I felt like we were roughing it but Anthon laughed at that. I am used to staying at Fool's Hollow where it is all paved and has toilets and showers and stuff so...I WAS roughing it. Even though we stayed in this...

My parents bought a new RV last week. It was SO nice!! It has a queen bed on one end and two sets of bunk beds on the other end. The table turns into a bed and the couch has a queen size hideabed. It holds 400lbs of water so we were still able to use the toilet and wash our hands and stuff. Anthon emailed his dad and said he was embarrassed of me because I asked them to turn on the generator so I could plug in my straight iron to straighten my hair.
OK, so maybe we weren't TOTALLY roughing it, but compared to Fool's Hollow......I personally think we were :o).

WAAAAY late!!

I never thought I would ever get so behind on my blogging but I was wrong!! Well, part of it wasn't my fault. Our computer crashed and we almost lost all of our pictures and then it took us a while to find them and put them back on the computer once it was fixed. Anyway, so I am finally doing my Father's Day post!!

Anthon is an amazing daddy to our children! He is always playing with them and reading books to them. He reads scriptures with our children every night before bed. He is always so willing to let me have a break from the kids on really stressful days. I have never had to worry about leaving the kids with him, even my new borns. He always takes at least one of the kids with him when he goes places even when I tell him he doesn't need to. He is VERY good about changing diapers and waking up at night with kids. I can't thank him enough for all his help. We love you!

I think I used this picture of my dad for the last Father's Day post. I really need a new picture! My dad is the greatest dad EVER! He is always joking around and having fun. He is the hardest working man I have ever met. Seriously! Some times I worry that he will work himself to death. Thank you for being such a great dad and grandpa!! The kids LOVE their grandpa! Love you!!And to my Father-in-law. I really couldn't have asked for a better FIL. He is kind and always willing to help! I don't know that I have ever seen him in a bad mood! Thank you for being such a great Papa to our children!! Love you!!

5 months

Mason turns 5 months old tomorrow!! I can't believe it! I feel like I just had him last month! Well, Mason went in for his 4 month well this week. I know, I should have done it a month ago. So, these are really his 5 month measurements.

Weight: 15.3 lbs. 25-50%
Length: 26 inches 75%
Head: 17 inches 50-75%

He has had the smallest head in the family so far. Makenna was always off the charts (seriously) and McKay was always in the 90%. All of my kids have always been in the 25-50% in weight so just imagine their heads on those bodies :o). Makenna's old pediatrician checked mine and Anthon's heads to make sure it was OK haha! We both have big heads so she wasn't concerned. Anyway, so Mason's head has been the smallest so far.
He isn't doing much. He has been my slowest baby. He laughs and talks and plays with his feet. He stands if you hold his hands but he isn't rolling over yet. He rolls to his side but thats about it. I think it's because I never really give him a chance to try. The other kids are always all over him when I put him either on the floor or a bed. So, he is always in a swing or bouncer or exersaucer. Poor kid.

Ear piercing

We went to Thatcher this past weekend so Anthon could go to another Father & Son camp out with my dad and brother. Anyway, while we were down there we decided it was time to get Makenna's ears pierced. I have been wanting to do it for years but Anthon always wanted to wait until she was a teenager. So, we decided that when Makenna asked for earings, we would take her to get them pierced. Well, she asked for them a while ago but I just never took her. I don't know why. Anyway, here are the pictures.

Getting marked

Ready...Set...GO

Right after it happened.
The lady on the left got it stuck and tugged on poor Makenna's ear. She did the same thing to the little girl that went right after Makenna.

My grandma with the victim
Makenna didn't cry until we started hugging her and asking her if she was OK. She got over it really quick when we let her pick out a candy and some bubbles.

I'm just going to throw this in really quick. My kids are obessed with my parents' Arctic Cat and ride in it every time they visit. Well, Mason had his first ride on it this past weekend. I think he really enjoyed it. We put him in a Bumbo and set him between me and mom. I held on to him the whole way and we went slow and took back roads, so don't worry :o). We actually rode on dirt roads that cars don't even drive on so it was no big deal.

Catching up and Memorial Day

I haven't posted in a while so this will be a long catch up post! First off, Mason is growing up so fast, it's sad. Here are some of his latest pictures.

He always has at least one leg hanging over the side of the swing. I don't think he can sleep any other way. So cute!

This is Masons first time in the exersaucer. He likes it for about 10 minutes and then gets sick of it.

His first time in a Bumbo

I went to a few yard sales a couple Saturdays ago (which everyone knows I don't like doing) but I'm glad I went. We have been in need of some camping chairs for the kids and I found some... or one.....they are connected so I don't know if it is considered 2 chairs or 1 :o). Either way, they LOVED it!

This is just a cute picture of Makenna and Mason. She absolutely LOVES him!
My parents came into town on Friday for Memorial Day weekend. It was a very busy weekend but lots of fun. My parents bought in to a resort down here so we went over there to swim and have a BBQ. It was lots of fun.....except for the getting burned part :o). I forgot to put sun block on my back so it is bright red and VERY painful :o(.

The kids enjoyed the little kid pool for a while

Mason really enjoyed the water!
But they were anxious to go swimming in the"big pool". So, we put on their ugly but helpful blue bathing suits and Anthon started teaching them to swim.

Haha! Don't you love Makenna's wedgie :)

Quick story. Makenna went over to the steps in the big pool before she had her blue bathing suit on and went down one step too many and literally started drowning. Well, there was a lady just a couple feet away from Makenna just staring at her! She didn't flinch! I was holding Mason and Anthon was a little farther away with McKay. So, I yelled for Anthon just as he saw her. He set McKay on the deck and swam over to Makenna. The lady was just watching the whole time!! How could any one do that? I'm just glad Anthon wasn't too far away.

My parents with Mason
Also, yesterday was our first day of the Summer Movie Fun. The movie was Space Chimps and McKay loved it. He loves Monkeys. Mason did great. He got fussy for only a few minutes so I made him a bottle and he was fine. McKay did fine as long as he had something to snack on. Sometimes he has a hard time sitting through movies but not that often. We met up with Anthon's sister, Bethany, and her daughter Kennedy. Kennedy didn't make a peep during the whole movie! She just ate her popcorn and fruit snacks. So cute.

Kennedy and McKay. It was dark in the theater so anytime I took a picture, the flash would blind them. I couldn't get a picture of them with their eyes open.

Poor Mason puts up with a LOT! :o)

Camping & Mother's Day

It was a really busy weekend at the Ellsworth home but a very enjoyable one! Anthon went to our ward's Father & Sons camp out on Friday. It was his second year with McKay and a little more enjoyable for both of them. A friend of ours in the ward had his birthday that day so they invited every one over for a BBQ and games. It was really fun and I'm glad I had something to do while Anthon was gone! I didn't take any pictures because Anthon had the camera. Here are some pictures of the camping trip.

McKay and a little buddy of his
Anthon slept in the Suburban last year but he thinks that McKay inherited my claustrophobia so they tried a tent this year. I think McKay liked it a lot better.

McKay also did a great job with his potty training on the way up. He told Anthon when he needed to go and Anthon would pull over or take him out in the woods. He didn't have one accident! Anthon took a picture of his first time ever going pee pee in the great outdoors. I hope it doesn't offend anyone :o).

This one's for you Danielle :o)

Anthon had planned on heading up to the cabin in Strawberry after leaving Fathers & Sons. He was going to take McKay to Fossil Creek and play in the water but he had a feeling that he should just go home. It's a good thing too! He had a blow out on the way home! He got out to change the tire but realized that he didn't have the allen wrench that he needed so he couldn't get the tire off. That was MY fault :o(. I had used them a couple months ago and forgot to put them back in the Suburban when I was done. Oops. Luckily, he was only like 5 minutes away from our house! He was on the San Tan 202 just short of the Power exit. I took some allen wrenchs to him and took McKay home with me while Anthon fixed the tire. I would have stayed to make sure everything went well but I was in a HUGE hurry trying to get things ready for a baby shower I was throwing that day.

Here is the tire :o( Yikes
The weird thing is the tire ripped on the side of the tire that had the least wear and tear. I don't understand how it happened!

Anyway, on a totally unrelated note, we discovered this weekend that McKay has Eczema! Poor little guy. I have had it since I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade and it gets REALLY bad so I know how painful it can be.
Sorry, it's a really blurry picture

Anyway, back to my story :o). I got home and got things ready for the shower. Anthon got home and got cleaned up and then watched the kids while I went to do the shower. I didn't take any pictures but here is a picture of the invites. I thought they turned out pretty cute :o)

I got home from the shower and Anthon let me take a little nap. When I woke up, he told me he was taking me out for dinner for Mother's Day. I told him I wanted YC's, so that's where we went. It was yummy :o).
Anthon also let me go out with some friends that night. We went to watch Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. It was cheesy but not the most horrible movie ever. I'm so thankful that I have a husband who is ALWAYS willing to watch the children so I can have some time to myself.

Now for Mother's Day. Anthon took care of Mason Saturday night so I could sleep, which he does every weekend. He got all the children bathed and tried to get as much stuff ready as possible by himself. It was Makenna's very first time singing in sacrament with the Primary! I couldn't really see her though :o(. There were two older girls standing in the very front where the Sunbeams were supposed to be so she was stuck behind them :o(. I was kinda mad about that because I pretty much missed her very first time being up there.
Anyway, when we got home, Anthon made lunch for us and then let me take a three hour nap! It was so nice!
We went to his parents house to visit them that night and then went home and put the kids down and I relaxed and read a book. It was a very nice day!!!
We tried to take a picture of me with the kids but that was impossible. This was the best one!

I had to put this one in because McKay's face is SO stinkin' funny!

McKay can never keep his eyes open!!
I also want to take some time to thank my mom for everything she has done for me. She is such an amazing person. She is a very loving person and I am so happy to have her as my mother. I love that she is such a comfort to me. I know that I can call her whenever I feel myself losing it and she can always make me feel better. She is always so willing to help me out with my children even though she lives 2 and 1/2 hours away. My children LOVE her! Thank you for raising us so well and for always loving us no matter what we (I) put you through :o). I love you very much!

Makenna just LOVES Manga!
Sorry for such a long post! :o) I hope all of you mothers out there had a great Mother's Day!!

Photo shoot

Just over a month ago we went down to Thatcher to visit and my sister Sarah and I decided to buy Makenna and Aubrey (Sarah's daughter) matching outfits and do a photo shoot. Sarah just got a nice new camera! So, she took the girls to EAC and took some pictures. These girls really love each other! I'm so glad she gets along with her cousins!

I like this picture! Makenna looks scared to be in the tree!

This one is my favorite!

Thanks for taking the pictures Sarah!
